Junior Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Handyperson

Location: Canning Vale, Perth WA

Salary: $100,000 (Inclusive of Annual Bonus) + Super

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 3:30pm | Friday, 7:00am – 1:00pm

We are seeking a hands-on Junior Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Handyperson to join an established Australian manufacturing business at its Canning Vale facility.

This is a great opportunity for a junior mechanical candidate, mechanically minded handyperson or someone with practical maintenance experience looking to develop their skills in a manufacturing environment.

Working alongside an experienced team, you will play an significant role in keeping production machinery running efficiently, carrying out preventative maintenance and assisting with general repairs and improvements across the site.

The Role

- Carry out preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Assist with mechanical breakdowns, troubleshooting and repairs across the factory.
- Complete general maintenance, servicing and hands-on mechanical work.
- Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability, productivity and workplace safety.
- Assist with maintaining critical spare parts and maintenance registers.
- Support workplace safety systems and good housekeeping practices.
- Work closely with production operators and the maintenance team to keep equipment operating efficiently.





About You We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including junior Mechanical Fitters, Trade Assistants and mechanically minded Handypeople.

You will ideally have:

- Practical mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.
- Some experience repairing, maintaining or working on machinery or mechanical equipment.
- An interest in developing a career in industrial maintenance and manufacturing.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.

A mechanical trade qualification or previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential. What's on Offer?

- $80,000 – $85,000 + Super
- Annual performance bonus, typically $10,000 – $15,000, with potential to reach up to 30% of salary.
- Permanent, full-time position with consistent weekday hours.
