This is a commercial law role where you will assist with and progressively manage commercial legal matters, working under appropriate supervision while developing your career in commercial law.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with and progressively manage commercial legal matters
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal analysis
- Draft and review commercial contracts, correspondence, agreements and legal documents
- Assist with business sales and acquisitions, commercial transactions, leases and property matters
- Assist with commercial disputes and litigation-related work where required
- Prepare advice, file notes, chronologies and other matter-related documents
- Communicate with clients and other legal professionals under appropriate supervision
- Attend meetings and assist with client instructions and matter management
- Maintain accurate files, records,
precedents and matter documentation
- Assist senior lawyers with more complex matters and progressively take responsibility for your own files
About you
- Australian legal admission and current entitlement to practise
- Minimum 1 year of full-time legal work experience
- Robust interest in commercial law
- Demonstrated legal drafting and research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks to deadlines
- Professional approach to client service and confidentiality
- Willingness to receive supervision, take feedback and develop professionally
- Availability to work three days per week for 5 hours mininum each day.
