We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our Production Kitchen team at Vasse Village by Bunbury Farmers Market. Whilst this is a hands-on role, the core of the position is supporting food preparation, maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, and helping ensure products are fresh, well presented, and prepared to a consistently high standard.

Bunbury Farmers Market is a leading regional independent retailer of fresh produce and Market Made meals. We provide high-quality specialist departments including our Gourmet Butcher/Deli, Dairy, Groceries, Sweet and Savoury Pastries and Café. Role Summary

Reporting to your line manager, the core of this role is supporting production of our Market Made range of products within a production kitchen, while maintaining a clean, secure, and organised work environment. Your duties will include:

- Complying with personal hygiene and food safety standards.

- Following pre-start procedures to ensure food contact surfaces, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitised prior to use.

- Performing manual handling tasks, including lifting tubs, crates, and gastronome trays containing raw or cooked product in and out of ovens.

- Washing, peeling, and preparing food ingredients.

- Using equipment such as Robot Coupes, mixers, scales, ovens, blast chillers, and wrappers to prepare food in line with standard recipes.





- Maintaining First In, First Out (FIFO) food and ingredient rotation in daily duties.

- Assisting with food assembly using good manufacturing practices.

- Complying with daily cleaning procedures.

- Monitoring production levels in store and ensuring products available for retail are fresh and well presented on shelves.

- Following all work instructions efficiently, accurately, and with care for your own safety and the safety of others in the Production Kitchen.

- Displaying a commitment to occupational health and safety standards through safe work practices.

- Weighing, measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes

- Checking food and ingredients for freshness.

- Working well under pressure and within time limits to meet production deadlines

- Contributing positively within a multicultural team environment.

What You Will Bring

- A strong understanding of personal hygiene and food safety standards.

- The ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately and efficiently.

- Experience in food preparation or working within a kitchen, food production, or catering environment will be highly regarded.

- The ability to safely perform manual handling tasks.





- Confidence using kitchen equipment and following recipe and production standards.

- A strong understanding of stock rotation and freshness requirements.

- The ability to maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.

- The ability to work well under pressure and meet production deadlines.

- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.

- A reliable, positive, and hardworking approach to daily duties.

- A commitment to occupational health and safety, food safety, and quality standards.
