Wellbean Co is a social enterprise of the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organisation that provides support to Darling Downs Health across the 30 hospitals and health facilities that comprise the Health Service. Every purchase made in our cafés helps fund vital medical equipment, resources, staff training and scholarships for Darling Downs Health.

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven café team where your work directly supports local healthcare. As Kitchen Hand, you will assist with daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared safely and efficiently while contributing to a positive, fast-paced team setting.

About the Role The Kitchen Team Member supports the wider kitchen team with the practical tasks that keep daily production and service moving.

You’ll work closely with the Kitchen Manager, Production Chef and wider kitchen team, following approved recipes, prep lists and kitchen systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Assisting with preparation of sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast items and cabinet products

- Preparing basic ingredients and food components

- Portioning, assembling, wrapping and packaging food

- Supporting daily production and catering requirements

- Packing and labelling products correctly

- Applying dates, day dots and labels as directed





- Assisting with stock rotation and organisation

- Receiving and putting away deliveries

- Replenishing ingredients and packaging

- Helping with internal stock movements and site supply

- Washing dishes, trays, utensils and kitchen equipment

- Cleaning and sanitising benches, prep areas and storage spaces

- Completing daily cleaning and close-down tasks

- Following food-safety and hygiene requirements

- Communicating shortages, quality concerns or issues promptly

Experience We’d Like to See

- Previous kitchen, café, hospitality, food-prep or cleaning experience

- Experience working in a commercial kitchen is highly regarded

- Experience with sandwiches, wraps, salads or grab-and-go food is useful

- Food-safety training is desirable

- Experience with stock handling, packing or labelling is also helpful
