L3 Systems Engineer

Location: Melbourne OR Sydney

Duration: 12-Months

About the Opportunity: Seeking experienced Level 3 Systems Engineers to provide operational and engineering support across critical hosting and infrastructure platforms. Working within a highly available data centre environment, you will be responsible for advanced systems administration, platform optimisation, incident management, lifecycle activities, and continual service improvements.

This role forms part of a dedicated support team and includes participation in a 24x7 on-call support roster.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Level 3 support for complex infrastructure incidents and service restoration activities.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, problem management, root cause analysis, and permanent remediation.
- Support and administer:
- Physical and virtual server environments
- Enterprise storage platforms
- Backup and recovery solutions
- Virtualisation technologies and hypervisors
- Windows and Linux operating systems
- Database platforms and supporting infrastructure
- Identity and access management services
- Certificate management platforms




- Infrastructure automation and orchestration tools
- Monitoring, event management and logging solutions
- Perform patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support lifecycle management activities including upgrades, migrations and platform refreshes.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, standards and configuration records.
- Work collaboratively with vendors, project teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and continual service improvements.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster supporting Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents.

Skills & Experience

- 5+ years' experience in a senior Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer role.
- Strong technical expertise across:
- VMware, Hyper-V or equivalent virtualisation technologies
- Enterprise server platforms
- Storage and backup technologies
- Windows and Linux administration
- Identity services and certificate management
- Monitoring and infrastructure management tools
- Automation and scripting technologies
- Experience within complex enterprise or data centre environments.
- Robust troubleshooting, diagnostic and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience working within ITIL-aligned operational support environments.
- Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure security best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as VCP, MCSE, RHCE, Microsoft Azure, AWS or equivalent are highly regarded.
