Brisbane Catholic Education is looking for an energetic and technically strong finance leader who is ready to step in, take ownership of statutory reporting and help shape the next stage of our financial accounting and compliance maturity.
This is a genuine opportunity to combine hands-on leadership of BCE’s annual financial statements with broader influence across technical accounting, taxation, audit, assurance, compliance, capability and continuous improvement.

- Salary: $155,351 plus 12.75% super

You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead BCE’s end-to-end statutory financial statement process
- Set explicit year-end plans, workpaper standards and audit-ready ways of working
- Provide authoritative advice on Australian Accounting Standards and complex transactions
- Strengthen accounting policies, governance, controls and assurance frameworks
- Lead audit coordination and the resolution of findings and agreed actions
- Oversee taxation, grants reporting, acquittals, asset accounting and compliance activities
- Improve processes, systems, automation and reporting integrity
- Build technical capability through coaching, guidance and practical learning
- Partner with leaders, schools, auditors and stakeholders across a large, complex organization
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement
We are looking for someone who brings strong statutory reporting experience, sound technical accounting judgement and the drive to make things better.
You will be comfortable getting into the detail when needed, while also setting direction, leading people and creating sustainable improvements across the function. This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Reporting Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, Audit or Assurance leader, or technical accounting specialist ready for a broader leadership challenge.
