Lead Service Designer / EL1 Business Designer
We are seeking an experienced design professional to support the transformation of business services, processes and operating models within a complex ICT program.
Contract details
- Locations: ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC, SA or TAS.
- Duration: 12 months, with one 12-month extension option.
- Estimated start: 9 November 2026.
- Working arrangements: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office and adaptable arrangements for the remaining two days, subject to negotiation with the line manager.
- Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week.
- Eligibility: Australian citizenship with Baseline security clearance.
About the role You will lead business design activities, analyse current-state services and design future-state processes, capabilities and operating models. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will facilitate workshops, develop design artefacts and provide advice that aligns people, processes, technology and organisational needs.
You will also assess business impacts, risks and dependencies, evaluate solution options and support business readiness and transition activities.
What we are looking for
- Extensive experience in business design, service transformation, operating model design or a closely related discipline within complex digital or ICT environments.
- Strong experience applying business design, human-centred design and/or service design methods.
- Experience analysing current-state environments and designing future-state processes, services, capabilities or operating models.
- Proven workshop facilitation and collaboration with senior business, technical and delivery stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, systems-thinking, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Australian Government transformation experience, knowledge of Agile and contemporary digital delivery practices, and experience developing operating models, capability maps, service blueprints and complex process models are desirable. Experience supporting implementation and business readiness for significant technology change is also desirable. Interested? Please get in touch to discuss the opportunity.
