What you'll do

UniSQ is seeking an innovative and collaborative Lecturer who is passionate about excellence in teaching, curriculum design and pedagogical practice. Dedicated to advancing the field of Contemporary Music and Education, you will contribute to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and meaningful engagement across our Initial Teacher Education, Bachelor of Music and Master of Education programs. This role offers the opportunity to inspire future educators across diverse learning contexts - including regional, rural, and remote settings - while contributing to locally grounded, globally relevant research and curriculum design that supports transformational educational outcomes. As a Lecturer (Curriculum and Pedagogy – Contemporary Music and Education) you will:

- Deliver engaging and reflective student-centred teaching methods across face-to-face and blended modes leveraging digital technologies.
- Conduct research activities that produce high-quality outputs and generate research income.




- Support the development of research teams and mentor HDR students.
- Contribute to a positive workplace and culture through internal service while also making significant external contributions to the community and profession.
- Actively engage in professional development activities and maintain currency in contemporary learning, teaching, and research approaches.

What will help you succeed

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

- It is essential you hold a doctoral or master’s qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in the relevant discipline.
- Teacher registration within an Australian Authority or capacity to apply for teacher registration and working with children check.
- Demonstrated teaching and scholarly expertise in initial teacher education.
- Demonstrated professional experience and practice and/or teaching expertise in contemporary music.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering engaged and reflective approaches to teaching that produce the best possible outcomes for students.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning that provides the opportunity to collaborate with others, advances knowledge, and engages with industry.
- Showcase your ability to engage in research, collaborate with others, attract funding, and advance knowledge in the field.

Location: Toowoomba or Springfield campus

Term: Full-time continuing appointment (37.5 hours/week)

Salary: Total remuneration range $137,920 to 163,017 pa (includes salary of $116,315 to $137,480 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
