Hiring Level 1 IT Support - IDS Officers (Information & Digital Services)

- Locations: South‑Eastern Metro | Western Metro | Eastern Victoria
- Metro Hubs: Braeside, Dandenong South, Hallam, Truganina, West Footscray, Laverton North.
- Regional Hubs: Pakenham, Carrum Downs, Bairnsdale, Wurruk, Warragul
- Start Dates: From 29th Oct 2026
- Contract Length: 6-8 weeks
- Rate: $51.55 per hour - additional penalty rates for overtime and weekends.
About the role You’ll be providing Level 1 IT support within a structured, operational setting, with a strong focus on device deployment, field support and standardised troubleshooting.
The role acts as the first point of contact for technical enquiries and issues, delivering customer-focused support in time-critical situations where system availability is essential to election delivery.
As an IDS Officer, you’ll be the go-to person for frontline IT support across:
- Election hubs & early voting centres
- Mobile voting sites
- Election Day venues
You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring everything runs smoothly, supporting:
- Laptops, printers & network connectivity
- User accounts & Windows environments
- ERMO (Electronic Roll Mark Off) systems
- On-site troubleshooting + remote helpdesk support

Key responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 IT support (phone, email & ticketing systems)
- Troubleshoot hardware, software & network issues
- Deploy, configure, and test devices across multiple sites
- Support ERMO setup, sync and returns
- Track and manage IT assets accurately
- Escalate issues and collaborate with wider technical teams
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in Level 1 IT support
- Confident with Microsoft Office, Teams & general systems
- Strong communicator – able to support non-technical users
- Organised and calm under pressure
Bonus if you have:
- Device rollout or field support experience
- Exposure to networking or asset management
Eligibility & Availability
- You’ll need to hold current Australian driver’s licence (mandatory)
- You’ll also need to be physically fit and able to be on your feet throughout the day:
- Ability to travel to different venues and hubs as required
- Able to perform light manual handling (e.g. laptops, printers)
- You’ll need to be comfortable and available to work dual shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends during election periods (additional penalty rates for overtime and weekends)
