About the role

Helpi Support Services is seeking a passionate and compassionate Lifestyle Assistant to join our team in the western suburbs of Brisbane, QLD 4074. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support. As a Lifestyle Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients in aged and disability support services, helping them to engage in meaningful activities and maintain their independence and dignity.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting clients with participation in recreational, social and cultural activities tailored to their interests and abilities
- Supporting clients to maintain hobbies and interests that bring them joy and purpose
- Assisting clients with self-care and domestic duties as required to live the life they wish
- Organising and facilitating group activities and outings within the community
- Providing one-on-one support to help clients achieve their personal lifestyle goals
- Encouraging clients to develop recent interests and skills in a supportive environment
- Documenting client participation and progress in activities as required
- Communicating with team members and families about client wellbeing and engagement
- Supporting clients to maintain social connections and community involvement
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes client choice and autonomy

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for supporting people and enhancing their quality of life
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
- Patience, empathy and a respectful attitude towards people with varying needs and abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a support team




- Physical capability to assist clients with mobility and activity participation as required
- Flexibility to work casual hours including weekends and public holidays if needed
- Current NDIS screener check or willingness to obtain one
- Police check
- Reliable transportation to travel to client locations in the western suburbs and surrounds
- A valid driver's licence is required
- Experience in aged care, disability support or community services is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
