ABOUT THE POSITION The primary function of the lighting designer is to liaise with Sales Team to produce lighting design layouts for our customers. Our customers include but are not limited to electrical engineers, electrical contractors, facility managers, architects and end users. You will provide technical and application support to internal and external stakeholders.
You will be a point of contact across the business to respond to lighting design queries and provide education to our growing team!
This role will collaborate closely with our Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Controls and Connectivity, and Marketing Teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce high-quality lighting calculations using AGI32 in accordance with the departments Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Achieve a high success rate on all designed projects through competitive and innovative solutions, which are presented in a professional manner.
- Information database management: IES file management, standards database management. Ensure Salesforce information is up to date with accurate data for reporting functions.
- Provide technical application support to the sales teams to aid in the “design to win” process.
- Be proactive in your awareness of industry trends,
technology, and lighting standards to ensure reference material is current and available in the education of lighting design. Attend lighting seminars and workshops as required to keep abreast of changes in the industry.
- Collaborative contribution of ideas and feedback to stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU You will be able to build and sustain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally. You will thrive at adapting and moving focus quickly as demands of the market change. You will enjoy regular coaching of Account Managers and other customer facing staff to deliver successful commercial lighting solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to professionally engage with various stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of lighting industry practice, standards, codes and product applications.
- Working knowledge of lighting design theory.
- Intermediate knowledge and competency in AGI32.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- Customer focused and understands what it takes to maintain and develop productive stakeholder relationships.
