About Us
DebtManagers is a debt recovery business operating across New Zealand and Australia. We aren't your usual collections agency. We pride ourselves on being compassionate, ethical, and focused on solutions. With fairness and respect at the heart of everything we do.
If you are seeking a role where your strategies & leadership directly move the needle, this is it.
About the Role
We're looking for an operations improvement leader to help shape the future of our field collections service. In this role, you'll combine logistics know-how, data-driven analysis and proven continuous improvement skills to design smarter operating models, lift performance and embed lasting change across the team.
If you thrive on solving complex operational problems, enjoy turning data into decisions, and have led improvement projects from idea through to results, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Own
- Prioritise files by urgency, value, workability and return potential — and back your calls with clear rationale
- Lead the Australian Support team, giving practical, real-time operational direction
- Partner closely with the Collections Leadership team to stay aligned to the bigger picture
- Report clearly on workload and the rationale behind your decisions
What We're Looking For
- Logistics operations management: You bring experience managing field-based or logistics operations, ideally in a sector with similar dynamics to debt collection, such as transport, courier delivery, field sales, tenancy services or community healthcare outreach.
- Project management: You hold PMP certification or have completed formal project management training, and you can point to a track record of successfully delivered projects.
- Operations research and analytics: You have a relevant qualification or hands-on experience working with data, conducting analysis and turning insights into sound decisions. Familiarity with operations research methods, such as transportation and routing problems or probabilistic modelling, will help you design, implement and monitor new operating models.
- Problem solving and critical thinking: Ideally you've applied a range of recognised problem-solving tools, such as SWOT analysis, root cause analysis, the 5 Whys and mind mapping, to real business challenges.
- Communication: You're an engaging and confident communicator who builds strong relationships with stakeholders at every level. You can distil complex issues into clear, accessible terms so your audience can engage, discuss and make informed decisions.
- Continuous improvement: You hold a qualification in, or have a strong working knowledge of, methodologies such as 5S, Lean Six Sigma, PDCA or Agile. Crucially, you've led a continuous improvement initiative from start to finish: engaging staff to understand the problem, designing and communicating the plan, implementing and monitoring change, reporting on results, and embedding current practices so gains are sustained and further improvements identified.
Why This Role Behind every file is a person, a situation, a story — and behind every decision is a team relying on you to set them up to succeed. This role sits at that intersection: the discipline to run a tight operation, and the awareness that how you run it affects real outcomes for real people. If you can bring grit, strategic thinking and strong leadership to the table, we want to hear from you.
