- Located at South Nowra Water Depot, 6 Flinders Road, South Nowra

About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator - Wastewater Distribution, this role is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising maintenance and repair activities across the Central wastewater distribution network. You will lead and support day-to-day team operations, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies and operational requirements, while contributing to the reliable delivery of wastewater services to the community. This includes:

- Plan, coordinate and supervise maintenance and repair activities across the wastewater distribution network.
- Lead and support the day-to-day operations of field crews and contractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate investigations, inspections and maintenance programs for wastewater assets.
- Provide technical advice and support on wastewater network operations, maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor and respond to customer requests, system faults and emergency situations to ensure timely resolution.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies, safety requirements and operational standards.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of maintenance programs, asset improvements and network reliability initiatives.
- Work closely with Wastewater Coordinators and operational teams to deliver high-quality wastewater services to the community.
- Participate in the on-call roster and assist with emergency response activities as required.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure appropriate traffic management and site controls are in place.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Water Industry or equivalent experience/knowledge
- MR Drivers Licence or must obtain within 6 months.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current Confined Spaces Entry Certificate
- Proof of Australian residency, citizenship, or right to work (visa) in Australia.
