Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist - General Medicine

This role provides clinical services and medical leadership in the discipline of General and Acute Medicine. The Department of Internal Medicine and Aged Care encompasses General, Acute, Perioperative and Consultation Liaison Medical Services to patients across the Herston Campus, as well as medical emergency response and team-based approaches to after-hours care for Patients of Concern. The department has a solid focus on safety and quality, health services research, patient and service improvement advocacy as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Provide senior clinical review and oversight to support the delivery of high-quality inpatient and ambulatory care for patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
- Conducting ward rounds, post-take reviews, multidisciplinary care planning and discharge management.
- Providing consultation and liaison services to inpatient units and specialty services across the hospital.




- Managing complex clinical presentations and support colleagues in delivering safe, effective patient care.
