Description:

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced LV & Auxiliary Maintenance Leading Hand to join our Maintenance team.

Reporting to the LV & Auxiliary Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of LV Mechanics and contractors while ensuring the safe, productive, and reliable maintenance of the site's light vehicle fleet and auxiliary equipment.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will coordinate daily maintenance activities, conduct fault diagnosis and repairs, manage work priorities, and support the planning and execution of preventative maintenance programs. You will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, mentoring team members, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and ensuring equipment is maintained to manufacturer and site standards.

This is a site-based role, working on an 8:6 FIFO roster (ex-Perth).

About the Role





Oversee and coordinate daily activities of LV & Auxiliary Maintenance staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and high standards of performance

Collaborate with the LV & Auxiliary Maintenance Supervisor to develop and manage staff rosters, arranging shift coverage for planned and unplanned absences

Act as the primary point of contact for staff queries, operational issues, and AREA-related concerns

Conduct daily prestart meetings and provide clear direction for the day’s tasks

Train, mentor, and support new LV & Auxiliary Maintenance, fostering a positive and productive work environment

Provide role modelling and supervision to ensure all team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards

Identify and escalate any ongoing issues

Work closely with planners to develop and implement effective maintenance and repair strategies

Regularly inspect work areas for potential hazards, damage, and defects to ensure a safe and efficient environment

Ensure all tools, equipment, and workspaces are kept clean, organized, and well-maintained

Perform routine maintenance and servicing of light vehicles according to scheduled plans

Service and maintain auxiliary equipment as per planned schedules to ensure optimal performance

Identify and troubleshoot faults or breakdowns in light vehicles and auxiliary equipment

Assess and estimate the time, materials, and resources needed to complete repair and maintenance tasks

Manage the procurement of spare parts and materials to support ongoing maintenance activities

Keep accurate records of all vehicle servicing, repairs,



and maintenance activities

Skills and Experiences:

About you To be successful for this role, you will have:

Trade qualifications in Automotive Engineering or a related discipline

Extensive experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing light vehicles and auxiliary equipment

Demonstrated leadership experience within a mining, heavy industry, or maintenance environment

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Sound planning, organising, and task prioritisation abilities A commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement

Effective communication and team mentoring capabilities A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement A current manual driver's licence
