The Role
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join an Operations team supporting a cyber capability program in Canberra. Working under the guidance of the Operations lead, you'll actively plan, coordinate and manage maintenance activities across training, mission and development support systems, taking ownership of maintenance tasks from development through to production against agreed timelines and budgets.
You'll work closely with a Maintenance Controller to orchestrate maintenance activities, manage regional Field Service Representatives, and engage directly with an Engineering Services team and key stakeholders to ensure systems remain aligned to agreed technical baselines.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to deliver on technical challenges arising in day-to-day operations across multiple systems and streams
- Manage and task regional Field Service Representatives (FSRs)
- Work closely with the Maintenance Controller to orchestrate maintenance activities
- Develop and continuously improve the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and associated policy and procedures
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support assurance for all products
- Coordinate Field Service Representative support for product delivery as agreed with Product Managers
- Establish and maintain Technical Maintenance Plans (TMP) for all project material systems, including routine updates and defect/fault activities
- Manage maintenance logs and report on faults and defects raised by stakeholders
- Engage with the Engineering Services team to ensure systems remain aligned to the agreed technical baseline, flagging compliance issues for action
- Regularly meet with key stakeholders to ensure needs and service requirements are being met
- Monitor, manage and resolve support portal tickets
Required
- Current NV1 security clearance
- Qualification (Degree, Diploma or Cert IV) in ICT Systems Engineering or a related field
- Certified SAFe® Practitioner (mandatory -- can be completed upon engagement)
- Demonstrated ICT experience
- Experience in a maintenance manager role for ICT and/or ADF systems
- Systems Engineering and/or systems maintenance experience
- Strong Defence background
- High-level management and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and sustain productive, team-oriented working relationships in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs
- Experience with stakeholder management in complex, matrixed structures
- Deep expertise in maintenance management concepts and strong knowledge of engineering concepts
- Expert-level knowledge in areas such as infrastructure, systems engineering and integration design
- Qualification in Maintenance Management (e.g. Cert IV, GradCert) highly regarded
- Qualification in Technical Regulatory Frameworks highly regarded
- ITIL certification highly regarded
- Experience in a maintenance manager role within the ADF highly regarded
- Agile/DevOps/Scrum experience highly regarded
- Experience in and understanding of information technology and/or cyber security highly regarded
