New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua Current Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province. NPL is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation, Zijin Mining, and the Papua New Guinea Government, combining global mining expertise with a shared commitment to responsible resource development and long-term value creation for Papua New Guinea.

The Porgera Gold Mine employs more than 3,000 Papua New Guineans and, over its 30-year operating history, has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports, making it one of the country's most significant economic assets.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Manager – Supply and Business Services to join our Porgera based operation leading our supply chain, logistics, procurement, inventory, contracts administration and travel & camp teams.

This is a critical ‘hands on’ role managing timely procurement and logistics for all goods, consumables and services across NPL driving an operationally focused team that ensures consistent and reliable supply chain to support mining operations. There will be a key focus on ensuring timely procurement, transportation, storage and availability of goods and services to maintain productive infield operations and minimalise mining downtime.

In this role, you must have an expert, readily applied knowledge of supply chain best practice in the mining industry and remote operations, together with a strong commitment to driving change. NPL is committed to continuously improvingtos and optimising itsits supply chain.



This creates opportunities to strengthen working practices, improve vendor performance, and continue upskilling the local and national team to consistently meet demand and deliver commercially competitive solutions.

You will model safety behaviours and coach and develop your team, working with your team to assess and manage risk. NPL operates in a complex environment that requires the successful applicant to be a self-starter, with strong ability in delivery to support the mines successful operation whilst coordinating the efforts of your team members to complete projects according to plan in a timely and safe manner.

About you

NPL has a supportive and dynamic culture. You must demonstrate agility and an ability to work effectively under pressure, understand and meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate strong team leadership, stakeholder management and mining operational knowledge.



You will also hold a relevant bachelor’s degree and have significant procurement and logistics management experience at both operational and strategic levels within the mining or oil and gas sector, ideally in a developing nation. Prior knowledge of Papua New Guinea's regulatory environment and community dynamic is highly desirable.

You will lead the team in line with NPL procurement policies and standards whilst measuring and monitoring functions performance, moving towards world-class practices and with a continuous improvement mindset.

You will demonstrate a ‘One Team’ approach, providing effective leadership and development for your local team to reinforce NPL’s culture and values, always promoting a safe work environment. The position requires a high energy individual, hands-on management style and desire to continuously improve you and your team’s knowledge and systems and methods of work.

This role is offered on a FIFO basis either from Australia/New Zealand with a 21/14 roster on a contract basis with a highly competitive remuneration package.
