The Role n
Seeking
Mechanical Engineers
with a background in mineral processing plant design who enjoy seeing projects through from concept to operation.

The role offers a unique blend of
office-based engineering and hands-on site involvement
.
n
Reporting to the
Mechanical Engineering Manager
you will provide site based mechanical engineering support during commissioning and plant start-up activities. Verify equipment installation and operation, trouble-shoot mechanical issues, coordinate with operations and construction teams, support performance testing, manage punch-list closure and facilitate the safe handover.
n
Following commissioning, you will return to a Perth-based engineering role supporting ongoing and future projects.
n
The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis. Initially starting off on site, FIFO Perth,
2/1 roster for a period of 3-6 months.
Brief Duties Site n
n
Raise site queries where installation differs from design
n
Identify design improvements or modifications required for operability and maintainability
n
Coordinate field modifications with the engineering team
n
Review and approve minor design changes within authority limits
n
Manage punch-list closure activities
n
Maintain commissioning records and test sheets
n
Capture lessons learned for future projects
n
Assist in development of as-built documentation
n
Support handover to operations and maintenance teams
n
Office n
n
Deliver mechanical engineering design for mineral processing and/or materials handling projects
n
Develop mechanical equipment specifications and data sheets
n
Prepare calculations, reports and technical documentation
n
Participate in feasibility studies, concept design and detailed engineering
n
Review vendor documentation and technical submissions
n
Coordinate with multi-discipline drafting teams
n
Support procurement, construction and commissioning activitiesConduct site inspections and field engineering support as required
n
Contribute to safety in design and risk review processes
n
Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and industry standards
n
Support project delivery to budget and schedule requirements
n
Criteria n
n
Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
n
3+ years' experience in minerals processing, preferably with an engineering consultancy or project delivery environment
n
Exposure to plant equipment and mechanical design
n
Previous involvement in plant commissioning, start-up or operational support - Advantageous
n
Ability to travel to site for commissioning assignments as required
n
Good communication and teamwork skills
