Millers Point

Are you a marketer who genuinely loves finding the story?

Not the person who wants to spend their day managing paid campaigns, tweaking ad performance or pushing out social posts for the sake of it.

This role is for someone who loves getting under the skin of a business, talking to smart people, asking good questions and turning complex ideas into content that makes people stop and pay attention.

You’ll join a growing professional services team within a major global organisation, working across a range of specialist advisory services. The business is evolving and with that comes a real opportunity to build awareness of what the team does, the people behind it and the work they’re delivering across Australia.

It’s a new role, so you won’t be inheriting a perfectly polished content machine. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape it.

What you’ll actually be doing

Your world will be content, stories, people and ideas.

You’ll work closely with subject matter experts across the business to uncover the interesting things happening across the team and turn them into compelling content for professional audiences.

That Could Mean

- Building and managing a national content calendar around industry events, trends, projects and opportunities

- Interviewing subject matter experts and turning their knowledge into articles, LinkedIn content, case studies and thought leadership

- Finding the story behind a project, rather than simply announcing that the project exists

- Developing profiles and content around the people doing the work

- Writing website content, project profiles, newsletters and internal communications

- Identifying industry news and emerging trends that the business can genuinely contribute to

- Working with senior stakeholders to uncover their expertise, opinions and areas of interest

- Supporting event marketing and finding ways to turn events into content opportunities

- Working alongside wider marketing, digital,

PR and creative teams to amplify the content you create

- Helping build the profile of the business and its people across the market

And importantly, you’ll need to get out from behind your laptop.

This is a highly collaborative role. You’ll spend time getting to know people across the business, understanding what they do, building trust and working out how to get the best story from them.

Sometimes that will mean sitting down with a senior leader. Other times it might mean finding the person with a genuinely interesting perspective that nobody else has thought to tell.

What We’re Looking For

3–5 years’ experience in content, B2B marketing, communications, corporate affairs, professional services or a similar environment.

More important than your exact background is what you can actually do.

You’ll Be Someone Who

- Is an excellent writer with strong editorial judgement

- Can take complex information and make it clear, interesting and accessible

- Is naturally curious and asks good questions

- Is confident speaking with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts

- Can spot a good story before someone else does

- Is proactive rather than waiting for a brief to land in your inbox

- Can manage multiple content opportunities and deadlines without losing the plot

- Is comfortable working in a professional services environment

- Understands that good content starts with good relationships

Experience across professional services, consulting, corporate communications, technical B2B marketing or another complex services environment would be highly relevant.

You don’t need to come from a particular industry. In fact, the hiring team is more interested in exceptional content and stakeholder skills than finding someone who has spent their entire career in one sector.

What This Role Isn’t

This isn’t a traditional marketing role focused purely on campaigns, lead generation or advertising.

It’s also not a pure social media role, a design role or a performance marketing position.

The focus is on content, thought leadership, storytelling and building the profile of experts and their work.

You’ll have access to a much broader marketing ecosystem around you, including digital, PR, creative and corporate marketing teams. Your job is to bring the stories and content opportunities to life.

The opportunity

This is a particularly interesting time to join.

The wider organisation is continuing to evolve its qualified services offering, and this team is playing an important role in communicating that capability to the market.

You’ll be joining a small team at an early stage of building its marketing function, which means your work will be visible and your contribution will matter.

You’ll also have the backing of a large global organisation, established brand, existing marketing infrastructure and specialist teams around you.

Small-team influence, big-business resources.

The practical information

- Permanent prospect

- Sydney CBD

- $90,000–$100,000 + super

- National remit

- Predominantly office-based, with some flexibility

- Collaborative, stakeholder-heavy environment

- Immediate start preferred

If you’re a content-led marketer who gets genuinely excited by finding the story, talking to interesting people and turning complex ideas into something people want to read, I’d love to hear from you.

Please note to be successful in this role you must have full Australian working rights.
