Mechanical Draftsperson / Engineering Technician

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support our engineering and production teams with mechanical drafting, design updates, technical documentation and practical manufacturing support.

This is a hands on drafting and technician position, with opportunities to work closely with the people manufacturing and assembling the equipment you help design.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing and updating mechanical drawings, CAD models, parts and assemblies.
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD and ERP systems.
- Checking drawings for accuracy, tolerances, materials, finishes and suitability for manufacture.
- Assisting with mechanical design changes, component selection and supporting calculations.
- Providing technical support during manufacture, assembly and equipment modifications.
- Assisting with testing, inspection, troubleshooting and design improvements.
- Working with production teams to ensure drawings and engineering information are accurate and available when needed.




- Supporting quality, safety and continuous improvement activities.

About You

- Cert IV in Engineering Drafting or A Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Drafting.
- 1–3 years’ Mechanical Drafting, Design or Engineering support.
- Proficiency with CAD software and the ability to create and modify mechanical drawings and models.
- An understanding of engineering tolerances, fits, materials and manufacturing processes.
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Solid problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

This role is suited to Mechanical Draftspersons and Engineering Technicians. Recent Mechanical Engineering graduates with an interest in drafting and manufacturing are also encouraged to apply.
