Mechanical Engineering Internship (Vocational Placement)

About the Program
Premium Graduate Placements (PGP) partners with leading Australian engineering and manufacturing companies to provide structured internship opportunities for students and graduates in Mechanical Engineering. This program is designed to provide practical industry exposure and hands-on experience across a variety of engineering projects and technical environments.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of mechanical systems and solutions. Depending on your placement, you may gain exposure to HVAC systems, manufacturing processes, product design, maintenance engineering, or project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, drafting, and documentation of mechanical engineering projects
- Support product development, testing, and performance analysis activities
- Participate in site inspections, maintenance assessments, and technical reporting
- Work with engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools
- Assist in preparing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Contribute to research, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- International students are welcome to apply
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and engineering principles
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar software is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and work in a skilled engineering environment
- Available for at least 3 days per week
