Mechanical Fitter – Defence | $69–$71/hr Penalties | Casual project to July 2027 | Mid-January Start
Chandler Macleod is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for an upcoming start in January on a major defence program based in Osborne. If you’re hands-on, safety-focused and confident working to high compliance standards, this is a great chance for project work through to July 2027 (with potential for further extension).

The role
You’ll be completing mechanical assembly and install work across a high-compliance site, including:
- Mechanical assembly, fit-out and installation of equipment and components
- Installation, overhaul and strip/rebuild of mechanical equipment
- Planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to keep equipment performing safely and reliably
- Reading and working from technical drawings, procedures and specifications (with a strong quality focus)
- Testing and commissioning activities as required
- Working closely with other trades, supervisors and QA to deliver safe, on-time outcomes in a structured environment
Successful candidates will be required to apply for a Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Identification Card (NSSIC) following interview.
