We’re partnered with a reputable local engineering and services business supporting mining and heavy industry clients. We are looking to bring in a highly capable Mechanical Fitter to lift capability and efficiency at their Mackay operation.

This role exists for one reason:

To get gearbox and pump strip-down, repair and refurbishment done properly and efficiently — in line with best practice seen at leading facilities.

The Chance

The Mackay workshop is well set up, modern, and growing — however the business is now seeking a specialist, not a learner.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strip, inspect, repair and refurbish slurry and process pumps
- Efficiently remove pumps from site and prepare for workshop works
- Diagnose faults and recommend repair solutions
- Support uplift in workshop capability through best-practice methods

What We’re Looking For:

- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter with pumps and gearboxes
- Strong understanding of pump/gearbox stripping, rebuild and refurbishment efficiency




- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of jobs
- Mining or heavy industry exposure highly regarded
- Someone who takes pride in doing the job right, not just getting it done

What’s on Offer:

- $55 to $60/hr casual full time for initial 6 months
- Another role we have is $52/hr full-time from DAY 1
