About the role

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting our specialist and maintaining productive administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

- Welcome patients warmly and professionally.

- Answer telephone enquiries and schedule appointments.

- Manage patient registrations and ensure demographic information is accurate and up to date.

- Process private billing and Medicare claims.

- Contact new patients from referrals to arrange appointments.

- Assist the ophthalmologist with administrative tasks.

- Scan, email and process incoming and outgoing correspondence.

- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

- Assist with closing the clinic when required.

- Provide reception support during periods of staff leave.

About you

- Previous reception or administrative experience.

- Excellent computer and data entry skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.





- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain confidential records.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

- Full Australian working rights.

- Police clearance.

- Previous experience in a medical or specialist practice (desirable).

- Experience using Xestro and / or Best Practice VIP practice management software (desirable).
