Mars Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected not-for-profit mental health organisation to recruit an experienced Mental Health Service Manager to lead their youth mental health service in Meekatharra, WA.
This is a residential position based in Meekatharra, with relocation assistance provided to support the successful candidate in making the move to regional Western Australia.
The organisation has been supporting young people across WA for more than 30 years, delivering accessible and innovative mental health services to young people aged 12-25.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Service Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, clinical oversight and ongoing development of the Meekatharra service. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to an experienced mental health professional who enjoys leading teams, building strong community relationships and working collaboratively with young people, families and local services.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team across clinical and youth engagement functions while helping ensure the service delivers culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and youth engagement staff
- Oversee day-to-day service operations, staffing, performance, budgets and reporting
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight across intake, assessment, risk management and care coordination
- Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally safe youth mental health services
- Build robust relationships with young people, families, local Elders and community stakeholders
- Develop partnerships with Aboriginal organisations, health services, government agencies and local community groups
- Support staff through supervision, mentoring, induction and performance management
- Monitor compliance, clinical governance, service delivery and KPIs
- Represent the organisation across regional networks and community forums
- Contribute to service development, strategic planning and continuous improvement
About You
We are looking for an experienced mental health professional with strong leadership and community engagement skills.
You will ideally have
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or a related discipline
- Current registration or professional membership where applicable
- Significant experience working with young people and families within mental health or community services
- Previous experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary team
- Strong knowledge of youth mental health, trauma-informed practice, risk management and clinical governance
- Experience working in a regional or remote community environment
- Experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with an understanding of cultural protocols and culturally safe practice
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience managing operational requirements including reporting, compliance and team performance
- Current Working With Children Check
- National Police Clearance
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
