Mental Health Support Worker – Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 per annum + superannuation

Location: Sydney, NSW

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide individualised support to participants living with psychosocial disabilities and mental health support needs.

You will work closely with participants, families and other professionals to implement support plans and assist participants in achieving their personal goals while maintaining their dignity, choice and independence.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred mental health and disability support.
- Support participants with daily living activities and community participation.
- Assist participants to develop and maintain independent living skills.
- Provide emotional support and encourage positive mental health and wellbeing.
- Support participants in working towards their NDIS and personal goals.
- Assist with appointments, community access, shopping and social activities where required.
- Follow individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and risk-management procedures.
- Observe and document changes in participants' wellbeing and support needs.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
- Respond appropriately to challenging situations and escalate concerns in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators,



allied health professionals and other members of the participant's support network.
- Maintain participant privacy, confidentiality, dignity and professional boundaries.
- Comply with Westview Disability Care policies, work health and safety requirements and applicable disability-service standards.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should have

- Certificate IV in Mental Health, Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Disability), Community Services, Mental Health, or a relevant qualification.
- Previous experience supporting people with mental health conditions and/or psychosocial disability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, compassionate and person-centred approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary support team.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or ability to obtain one.
- Working with Children Check where required for the role.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Appropriate Australian working rights.
- Ability to complete required employment and compliance checks.
