MIDDLE LEADERSHIP POSITION: HOUSE DEAN

Full Time Continuing, Commencing January 2027

POSITION PURPOSE The House Dean is a Middle Leadership position at St Patrick’s College Shorncliffe, responsible for leading the pastoral care, wellbeing, formation, belonging and academic engagement of students from Year 5–12 within a House community. The role provides strategic and operational leadership through the development, implementation and review of an annual House Strategic Plan aligned to the College Strategic Plan, Mission, Vision, Values and pastoral priorities. Working in partnership with senior leaders, Group Tutors, teachers, parents and caregivers, the House Dean ensures every student is known, valued, supported and challenged to grow as a Man of Action.

This is a 4 year, fixed term appointment with the ability for another 4 years at a Tier 3 Middle Leader Level, in accordance with the Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Agreement (Religious Institute Schools of Queensland) 2023-2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Catholic identity, Edmund Rice charism, values and community life of the College are brought to life through the House community.
- Improved student belonging, engagement, attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and participation within the House.
- Effective monitoring of student progress and learning behaviours,



with timely support and intervention for students requiring additional care.
- A strong, inclusive and high-expectation House culture where students, staff and families experience right relationships and a sense of belonging.
- Consistent and effective leadership of Group Tutors, student leaders, pastoral systems, record keeping, House routines and communication processes.

- Relevant REALM (LMS) page/s for the House are maintained as current, accurate and useful sources of information for students, staff and families.
- Clear progress against agreed House priorities, College strategic goals and student pastoral and wellbeing initiatives.
- Strengthened partnerships with parents, caregivers, staff and relevant professionals in support of student growth.
