Civil Project Engineers — FIFO & Queensland East Coast DTMR Opportunities

Multiple roles | Three established mid-tier civil contractors | Queensland We are partnering with three respected mid-tier civil contractors to recruit experienced Civil Project Engineers for a solid pipeline of infrastructure work across Queensland. Opportunities include FIFO project delivery and East Coast road and transport projects for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR).

The Opportunities

Contractor 1 — FIFO Civil Infrastructure

Join a well-established contractor delivering complex civil works in regional and remote Queensland. This opportunity suits an engineer comfortable working in a site-based FIFO environment and coordinating earthworks, drainage, structures, pavements and subcontractors.

Contractor 2 — Queensland East Coast DTMR Projects

Work on road and transport infrastructure along Queensland’s East Coast for DTMR. The role offers exposure to live-traffic environments, quality and compliance requirements, stakeholder coordination, and the delivery of safe, efficient project outcomes.

Contractor 3 — Regional Roads & Civil Works

Take ownership of project engineering on regional road, bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure packages. This is an opportunity to join a contractor with a practical delivery culture and contribute from planning and procurement through construction and handover.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan and coordinate daily construction activities, resources and subcontractors. · Manage scopes, procurement, cost tracking, forecasting and project reporting.

· Prepare and administer ITPs, work packs, RFIs, lot records and handover documentation.

· Monitor programme,



productivity and quality against project requirements.

· Support risk assessments, environmental controls and a strong safety culture.

· Liaise with clients, DTMR representatives, designers, suppliers and site teams.

· Identify delivery risks early and drive practical, commercially sound solutions.

About You

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. · Project engineering experience with a civil contractor in roads, earthworks, drainage, pavements, structures or utilities.

· Strong understanding of construction planning, quality documentation, cost control and subcontractor management.

· Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across site and client teams.

· A practical, safety-focused approach and willingness to take ownership of outcomes.

· Australian working rights and a current driver licence.

· For FIFO roles, the ability to work the project roster and travel to regional or remote sites.

· Previous DTMR project experience or familiarity with Queensland road construction requirements will be highly regarded.
