We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary disability services team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to participants with a range of physical, psychosocial, and intellectual disabilities. This position is tailored for a clinician in their 3rd to 6th year of professional experience.
You will operate as a Health Professional Employee - Level 1 under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 7 guidelines. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative, supportive team environment aimed at maximizing participant independence and community participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment & Intervention
- Conduct comprehensive functional assessments to identify participants' strengths, barriers, and goals.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans that enhance daily living skills, independence, and well-being.
- Prescribe assistive technology (AT) and equipment, including drafting minor and major AT applications.
- Recommend home modifications to ensure safe and accessible environments for participants.
Service Delivery & Case Management
- Manage a diverse caseload of participants with complex and varied disability support needs.
- Deliver services across multiple settings, including community, home, and clinic environments.
- Collaborate closely with families, carers, support coordinators, and other allied health professionals to ensure holistic care.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate clinical notes and participant records in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
- Write high-quality reports, including NDIS functional capacity assessments and progress reports.
- Ensure full compliance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission rules and relevant state regulations.
Key Selection CriteriaQualifications & Registration
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (AQF Level 7) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the skilled body.
- General Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (Ahpra).
- Active membership with Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) is highly desirable.
Experience & Skills
- 3 to 6 years of clinical experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist, preferably within the disability or community health sector.
- Solid understanding of the NDIS framework, including funding packages, reasonable and necessary criteria, and reporting requirements.
- Proven capability to work independently with minimal clinical supervision, demonstrating strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for effectively engaging with participants and compiling professional reports.
Compliance Requirements
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current Australian Driver’s License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle for community visits.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
Pay: $43.05 – $68.30 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 per week
