About the Opportunity

AFCS is currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team on a casual basis.

This is a pioneer role within our organisation. As the very first OT on our team, you won't just be filling a position, you will be the cornerstone of our new OT service delivery. You will have the unique opportunity to help shape how we provide life-changing occupational therapy to our elderly clients, ensuring they can live safely, independently, and comfortably.

Service Areas: You will be providing community-based occupational therapy services to our clients across the south-eastern metropolitan regions of Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

- Assessments:



Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for elderly clients in home and community settings.
- Care Plans: Develop, implement, and monitor person-centered intervention plans.
- Equipment & Modifications: Recommend and prescribe assistive technologies, adaptive equipment, and home modifications.
- Collaboration: Partner with clients, families, and our wider care team to ensure seamless, holistic support.

What We Are Looking For To be successful in this foundational role, you should possess:

- Language: Fluency in Filipino (Tagalog) is highly desirable to support our predominantly Filipino-speaking clients.
- Registration: Current, unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an OT (aged care or community experience is highly regarded).
- Licensing: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle for travel across South-East Melbourne.
- Compliance: Current National Police Check and First Aid/CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Values: Deep cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to client confidentiality.
