Matching Minds is looking for an exceptional Year 11 Psychology tutor with a strong understanding of the Western Australian curriculum and WACE pathway.
This role is specifically for a Year 11 student studying Psychology in Western Australia, so applicants must have direct knowledge and experience with the WA curriculum.
This is not a general Psychology tutoring role. We need someone who understands the WA course content, assessment expectations and what students are required to know at Year 11 level.
The role
You’ll provide personalised 1-to-1 online Psychology tutoring to a Year 11 student studying under the WA curriculum.
The focus will be on helping the student:
- Understand key Psychology concepts and terminology
- Keep up with current Year 11 coursework
- Prepare for assessments and exams
- Improve written responses and application of psychological concepts
- Identify and address knowledge gaps
- Build confidence and become a more independent learner
Tutoring is delivered online, so you can work from anywhere in Australia. However, strong knowledge of the Western Australian Psychology curriculum is essential.
What we're looking for
You might be
- A current or former WA secondary school Psychology teacher
- A teaching student with experience in the WA curriculum
- A university student or graduate who completed Year 11 and/or Year 12 Psychology in Western Australia
- An experienced tutor who currently works with WA Psychology students
- Someone with robust knowledge of the WACE Psychology pathway
More importantly, you’ll be someone who can actually teach. Our best tutors can break difficult concepts down clearly,
adapt their explanations to the student and help build both academic skills and confidence.
You'll ideally have
- Strong, current knowledge of the Western Australian Year 11 Psychology curriculum
- Experience with WA/WACE Psychology
- Strong Psychology subject knowledge
- Experience tutoring or teaching secondary school students
- Excellent communication and explanation skills
- The ability to adapt your teaching style to different students
- Reliability and professionalism
- A genuine interest in helping young people succeed
- A valid Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Reliable internet and a suitable environment for online tutoring
