Position Description: Veterinary Nurse

Veterinary Emergency Care Australia (VECA) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal care and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.
As a 24/7 clinic, our team covers a wide range of shifts, but we pride ourselves on adaptable scheduling and working with you to create a schedule that fits your life.
Duties:
Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and inventory/stock control
Provide guidance to clients on animal care, health, hygiene, and general wellbeing
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including safely restraining animals
Clean and sterilise examination areas, surgical instruments, and equipment in line with hygiene standards
Prepare surgical instruments and support veterinarians during procedures




Assist with the administration of anaesthesia and oxygen during surgical operations
Monitor animals during post-operative recovery, including observing vital signs and overall condition
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
Perform administrative duties such as reception, appointment scheduling, and payment processing
About You
Passion for animal welfare and high standards of care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments
Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Vet Nurse
Relevant qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000- $90,000 base salary (depending on experience)
