About the role The Animal Hospital Kalgoorlie is seeking a Part Time Receptionist to join our welcoming team in Kalgoorlie, WA. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for our clients and their beloved pets. As the first point of contact, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service. This role offers flexibility whilst contributing meaningfully to our veterinary practice's daily operations.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting clients and their pets in a warm and professional manner upon arrival at the clinic
- Managing reception desk duties including answering phones, transferring calls appropriately, and taking messages
- Scheduling and confirming appointments, ensuring optimal clinic flow and minimal wait times
- Processing client payments, handling cash transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records
- Maintaining client and patient records with attention to detail and confidentiality
- Assisting with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and document organisation
- Providing clients with information about services, costs, and veterinary care options
- Supporting veterinary staff by preparing consultation rooms and gathering necessary materials
- Ensuring the reception area is clean, organised, and welcoming at all times

What we're looking for

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with pet owners and veterinary staff
- Strong organisational and time management abilities to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or veterinary setting, though not essential
- Proficiency with computer systems, appointment scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to animal welfare
