Hays is partnering with a well-established and growing Australian manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Officer to join its finance team. Your New Role
This is a diverse position combining payroll administration with broader accounts and business support responsibilities. Working closely with the finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll and financial administration processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements.
This position offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process improvements across the finance function.
What You'll Be Doing
End-to-end payroll processing and employee-related payments
Maintaining payroll records and ensuring legislative compliance
Processing reconciliations, journals and general accounts administration
Supporting month-end reporting activities
Managing company asset and fleet administration
Coordinating supplier accounts, credit card reconciliations and related documentation
Assisting with insurance and general business administration
Maintaining accurate financial records and internal controls
Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiencies
Supporting finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What You'll Need to Succeed
Previous experience in payroll and accounts administration
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience using accounting and HRIS systems
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
