Tell me more... A Peer Worker works under direction to facilitate the delivery of supports to consumers of the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS). A Peer Worker is employed to assist consumers, carers and families, service providers and Non-Government Organisations to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework while utilising a lived experience of mental health issues to work towards achieving the best outcomes for consumers.

The Peer

Worker provides support in both inpatient and community settings.

Identified Role: Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived / living experience of mental health and recovery. Applicants are expected to refer to their lived experience within their application.

- Base salary comprising between $3,129.60 - $3,480.40 (Pro Rata) per fortnight– you may be eligible for additional benefits – refer to Workplace benefits | Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service
