As Crescendo Music (est. 1976) continues to expand, we are seeking dedicated Piano Teachers who are passionate about music education and interested in developing a long-term teaching career within our Academy.
We welcome emerging educators who are developing their teaching experience, as well as highly qualified and experienced teachers interested in taking on more specialised roles within our advanced programs.
Teachers with higher-level qualifications, specialist expertise and demonstrated teaching experience may be considered for opportunities within ProAcademy and ExProAcademy, contributing more extensively to advanced student development, performance preparation and the Academy's broader educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, structured and individualised piano lessons appropriate to each student's ability, goals and Academy pathway.
- Establish robust technical and musical foundations for beginner and developing students.
- Prepare students for AMEB, ABRSM and other recognised music examinations, where appropriate.
- Develop students' performance confidence through recitals, concerts, competitions and other Academy activities.
- Establish clear learning objectives, monitor progress and encourage consistent practice habits.
- Maintain professional communication with parents, students and Academy administration.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and contribute positively to Academy events and educational initiatives.
- For suitably qualified specialist teachers, contribute to advanced repertoire development, higher-level examinations, performance mentoring and ExProAcademy initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum AMEB Grade 8 Piano completed, or a recognised equivalent qualification.
- Availability to teach a minimum of three days per week, including after-school hours and weekends.
- Strong understanding of piano technique,
music theory and musicianship.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to different ages, abilities and learning objectives.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, reliable attitude and commitment to consistent, long-term student development.
- Willingness to work within Crescendo Academy's structured teaching pathways and educational expectations.
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one before commencing.
Additional Qualifications and Specialist Opportunities We particularly encourage applications from teachers who hold:
- AMEB Diploma qualifications (AMusA, LMusA) or equivalent.
- Bachelor's, Master's or higher qualifications in Music, Piano Performance or Music Education.
- Demonstrated experience preparing students for advanced examinations, competitions or tertiary music pathways.
- Specialist expertise in piano performance, pedagogy, collaborative piano or advanced musicianship.
- Experience mentoring developing musicians or contributing to masterclasses and specialist educational programs.

Teachers with suitable credentials and demonstrated expertise may be invited to contribute to ProAcademy or ExProAcademy, including advanced student mentoring, specialist programs, masterclasses, performance projects and broader educational development.

Pay: $55.00 – $72.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15.0 per week
