Company Description Melodique Music School, part of MELODIQUE Vocal & Performance Technique, is a dedicated music and singing school based in the Wollongong area. The school welcomes learners of all ages and experience levels, from curious beginners to seasoned performers. Instruction is tailored to each individual’s goals, whether they want to play for enjoyment or prepare for exams, auditions, or special performances.

Role Description This is an in office contract role for a Piano Teacher located in the Wollongong area. Online deliver from the studio is occassionally required.
The Piano
Teacher will deliver one-on-one piano lessons, designing lesson plans that match each student’s skill level, interests, and goals. Daily responsibilities include teaching piano technique, introducing and reinforcing music theory concepts, selecting appropriate repertoire, and preparing students for performances, exams, or auditions. The role also involves assessing student progress, written goal-setting, providing constructive feedback, maintaining clear lesson records,
and communicating regularly with students and caregivers about goals and achievements.
The Piano
Teacher will collaborate with other instructors to support a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong piano performance skills, equivalent to an AMEB Grade 6 level or higher.
- Candidates should possess skills in Piano Education and Music Education, with the ability to design structured, engaging lessons for diverse learners.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Music Theory and the ability to explain rhythm, harmony, notation, and other core concepts clearly.
- Formal training in music (e.g., diploma or degree in music or music education, or equivalent professional experience) is beneficial.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience, especially with children and adolescents, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles is preferred.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, reliability in scheduling, and a professional, inclusive approach to working with students and families are essential.
- Willingness to adhere to school policies, support performance events, and maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment is expected.
