We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Piggery Attendant to join our team at our Wasleys, South Australia site.
About the Role:
This is a full time position offering stable, ongoing employment within an established Australian agricultural business. Working as part of our piggery team, you will assist with the day-to-day care and management of our livestock while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, hygiene and workplace safety.
Roster
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 3:26pm
- Every second Saturday and Sunday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
- Full-time ongoing position
- Commencement date: 12 October
- Subsidised accommodation available
Your Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include:
- Providing daily care and monitoring of pigs
- Feeding and checking livestock
- Monitoring animal health and welfare
- Cleaning pens, sheds and equipment
- Assisting with general piggery and farm duties
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and biosecurity
- Following animal welfare and workplace health and safety procedures
- Working closely with the site team to ensure daily tasks are completed safely and efficiently
About You:
Previous piggery, livestock or agricultural experience would be highly regarded; however, we are also interested in hearing from reliable candidates who are willing to learn. To be successful, you will:
- Be comfortable working around pigs and in a livestock environment
- Be physically fit and capable of performing hands-on duties
- Be reliable and able to commit to the required roster, including every second weekend
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Have a strong focus on animal welfare and safety
- Have reliable transport
- Be willing to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
