Job Description
We are seeking a talented
Chef
to join the kitchen team at Luna's Garfield on a
full time basis
. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment where culinary creativity and precision are highly valued. Based in Garfield vic, (15 min east of Pakenham) you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests, contributing to the reputation and success of our establishment.
What you'll be doing n
Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
n
Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen
n
Managing food preparation stations and ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored
n
Plating dishes with attention to detail and visual appeal
n
Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during busy periods
n
Following portion control guidelines and minimising food wastage
n
Assisting with menu development and suggesting new dishes based on seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
n
Responding to feedback from management and continuously improving cooking techniques
n
Maintaining kitchen equipment in good working order and reporting any maintenance issues
What we're looking for n
Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a qualified kitchen environment
n
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, & hygiene practices
n
Proficiency in a range of cooking techniques and culinary methods




n
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain quality during peak service times
n
Excellent time management and organisational skills
n
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
n
Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes
n
Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
n
Current cert 3 or 4 in commercial cookery
n
Other relevant culinary qualifications or formal training an advantage
