Regional Group Australia (RGA) are seeking an experienced Technical Manager - VIC Quarries to join our team based at Pakenham, Melbourne, VIC.

The Technical Manager is responsible for sampling, testing and reporting on quarry products in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) test methods, and company Inspection & Test Plans. The role ensures product quality, technical compliance, and integrity of test results while supporting production teams through technical advice and quality feedback.

Duties will include:

Conduct sampling and testing of quarry products in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and DTP test methods.
n

Maintain required testing frequencies as outlined in approved Inspection & Test Plans.
n
Produce accurate, objective, and traceable test results at all times.
n
Report any incidence of undue influence or pressure on test outcomes.
n
Raise non-conformances in accordance with company Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) procedures.
n
n
Liaise with quarry production staffregarding product quality and compliance status.
n
n
Offer potential solutions to product deficiencies, within delegated authority and technical limits.
n
Maintain and calibrate laboratory and field testing equipment.
n
Prioritise testing activities based on urgency, production requirements, and customer needs.
n
Knowledge and experience required:

Current Drivers licence required.
n
Willingness and flexibility to travel between quarry sites.
n
Solid commitment to safety, integrity, and quality.
n
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
n
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
n
Clear and effective communication with technical and operational teams.
n
Professional conduct and ethical decision-making.
n
NATA signatory-level competency for aggregate testing, desirable.
n
Previous quarry operational experience, including knowledge of varied production techniques, desirable.
n
Exposure to both hard rock and sand quarry operations, desirable.
