HDD Superintendent - Horizontal Directional Drilling n
Reporting directly to senior management, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our HDD division.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead and manage multiple HDD crews across active projects
n
Drive daily and weekly production targets and metres delivered
n
Plan drill crew allocation, plant, tooling and supporting resources
n
Ensure drill crews are productive and downtime is minimised
n
Monitor production performance and identify constraints before they impact delivery
n
Coordinate drill shots, site preparation, locating, mud management, reaming and pullback operations
n
Manage HDD equipment, tooling, drill rods, reamers, sonde systems and associated plant
n
Take ownership of equipment condition, preventative maintenance and breakdown management
n
Ensure operators complete daily pre-starts and equipment inspections
n
Reduce unnecessary plant damage, misuse and avoidable repair costs
n
Work with project and operations teams to develop realistic construction and drilling programs
n
Manage subcontract HDD crews where required
n
Mentor drillers, locators and developing operators
n
Maintain strong standards around safety, quality and site presentation
n
Review difficult bores and assist crews with drilling methodology, tooling selection and problem solving
n
Provide management with explicit reporting on metres, productivity, downtime, equipment and crew performance
