About The Role n
Leading a small team, you'll provide strategic oversight of Delta's contracts and commercial function, ensuring major contracts deliver value, manage commercial and contractual risk and support operational success.
You Will n
n
Lead the review, negotiation, management and governance of major contracts across the full contract lifecycle.
n
Build commercial capability, accountability and collaboration across the team and wider business through coaching guidance and improved processes.
n
Provide practical advice on contractual obligations, insurance, risk and commercial exposure.
n
Support major sourcing activities, tenders and business opportunities through contract review, commercial risk assessments and negotiations.
n
Advise on contract variations, renewals, claims, performance issues, disputes and contractual remedies.
n
Oversee supplier performance and foster strong commercial partnerships with major suppliers and contractors.
n
Drive continuous improvement in contract management frameworks, systems and compliance.
n
Empower team members to take ownership, make decisions and continuously improve the way we deliver.
n
About You n
You are a commercially minded leader who is comfortable working through complex contract provisions and partnering with operational leaders to translate them into practical business outcomes.
You Will Bring n
n
A tertiary qualification in Law (LLB, JD or equivalent) Business, Commerce, Management or a related discipline
n
Significant senior experience in commercial contracting, negotiation and contract management.
n
Strong experience reviewing, interpreting and negotiating complex commercial agreements supported by sound knowledge of Australian contract law, commercial governance,
SOCI & Third-Party risk management principles.
n
Experience managing complex supplier and contractor relationships across the full contract lifecycle.
n
A sound understanding of insurance and risk transfer arrangements.
n
Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to assess pricing, value, risk and broader business impacts when navigating complex contractual and operational challenges.
n
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
n
Experience developing or improving contract management frameworks, systems and governance processes.
n
Sound commercial judgement and the ability to balance contractual protection, compliance and risk controls with practical business outcomes.
n
Experience within utilities, power generation, engineering, maintenance, industrial services or other asset-intensive environments or admission as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction will be highly regarded.
