Senior Financial Accountant

nThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically solid accountant looking to move beyond transactional reporting and step into a broader role with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, stakeholder engagement, leadership and commercial decision support.n
nWorking closely with senior leaders, you'll play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, improving reporting processes and helping the business make informed decisions through quality financial analysis.n
The Opportunity

Financial & Technical
n
n
n
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
n
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations and financial controls.
n
Manage statutory compliance including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and other reporting obligations.
n
Support year-end processes and act as a key contact for auditors and external stakeholders.
n
Assist with cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning activities.
n
Operational
n
n
Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful variance analysis and recommendations.
n
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, systems and finance processes.
n
Support finance-related projects, automation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
n
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and reporting issues.
n
Stakeholder & Commercial
n
n
Partner with operational managers and non-finance stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
n
Prepare reporting packs and financial commentary for leadership teams.
n
Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members.
n
Contribute to building a high-performing and collaborative finance function.
n
n
To be successful, you'll ideally bring:
n
n
n
CA or CPA qualified (or actively studying towards completion)
n
Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations and management reporting.
n
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
n
Strong understanding of financial controls and statutory compliance requirements.
n
Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
n
The confidence to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
n
A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving systems, processes and reporting.
n
