Windows Server Administrator

Roles and Responsibilities:
n
n
Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, ensuring optimal performance.
n
Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to Windows OS using SCCM.
n
Monitor and troubleshoot server performance and availability issues.
n
Configure security policies, including group policies, firewall settings, and anti-malware solutions.
n
Ensure Windows servers meet compliance standards CIS best practices.
n
Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
n
Create, configure, and manage virtual machines (VMs) and templates.
n
Monitor the health and performance of the VMware setting and VMs.
n
Tune VMs and VMware settings for optimal performance and resource utilization.
n
Configure VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or other tools if used for disaster recovery and experience in performing DR using SRM.
n
Monitor and forecast resource usage to plan for expansion.
n
Use VMware tools like VMWare Aria Operations to monitor capacity and health.
n
Diagnose and resolve hardware and virtual network/storage issues in VMware environments.
n
Support and troubleshoot issues related to VM migrations, snapshots, and backups.
n
Create, configure, and manage domains, trusts, and forests as needed.
n
Implement and manage sites and replication to optimize AD performance.
n




Manage user accounts, group memberships, and permissions and maintain the best practices.
n
Enforce least-privilege access and manage permissions through group policy objects (GPOs).
n
Configure and maintain Group Policies for user and computer settings across the domain.
n
Implement GPOs for security settings, application restrictions, and user experience.
n
Maintain a backup and recovery plan for AD, including testing restore scenarios.
n
Use PowerShell, vSphere CLI, or other tools to automate routine tasks in Windows, VMware, and AD environments.
n
Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
n
Prepare capacity and utilization reports for management.
n
Provide level 2/level-3 support for escalated issues related to Windows, VMware, and AD.
n
Educate and assist other team members on best practices.
n
Experience in Azure cloud platform management.
n
n
