We are seeking an experienced
Administration Officer
to join a busy Finance team within a large and diverse public sector organisation.
n
This role is ideal for an administration or finance professional with strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage data, financial transactions and property-related records accurately. Previous local government rating or finance experience would be highly regarded.
About the Role n
You will be responsible for a range of administrative and financial activities supporting the accurate maintenance of rates and property-related records.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Processing rate levies, transfers, charge maintenance and rate-related journals.
n
Maintaining accurate property and rating records.
n
Reviewing financial transactions, rebates and adjustments for accuracy.
n
Responding to internal and external customer enquiries via phone, email and other channels.
n
Conducting data integrity checks and preparing reports.
n
Processing rate adjustments, refunds and changes to property records.
n
Supporting concessions, valuations and other rating-related activities.
n
Investigating and resolving non-routine queries and discrepancies.
n
Contributing to process improvements, system enhancements and testing of new software or upgrades.
n
Working collaboratively with team members and providing support and knowledge sharing where required.

What We're Looking For n
The successful candidate will have:
n
n
Certificate III in Business Administration
or equivalent relevant experience.
n
Strong administration and data-entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
n
Previous experience working with
financial transactions, property/rates administration or similar processes
.
n
Strong communication and customer service skills.
n
The ability to investigate issues, solve problems and follow tasks through to completion.
n
Strong time management and the ability to work independently.
n
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
, Word and standard business systems.
n
A positive, flexible and team-focused approach.
n
The ability to learn new systems, processes and legislation quickly.
n
n
Previous local government rating experience or experience within a related finance setting is highly desirable. A current C Class driver's licence is also desirable.
