We are seeking experienced
Network Planning / Power Systems Engineers
to join a major program supporting the future development of Victoria's electricity network.
n
With opportunities available across
Engineer, Senior and Principal levels
, these roles will support significant network growth and investment driven by
major recent connections, including large-scale data centres and other high-demand customers
.
n
You'll play a key role in assessing future electricity demand, identifying network constraints and developing the distribution and sub-transmission solutions required to safely and reliably accommodate major new loads.
The Role n
Working within the
electricity and energy infrastructure sector
, you'll undertake and contribute to network planning activities across distribution, sub-transmission, zone substation and upstream networks.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Monitor and forecast
network loading, utilisation and future capacity requirements
n
Undertake
network modelling, load-flow and contingency analysis
n
Assess the network impact of
major new connections and large electrical loads
n
Identify emerging network constraints, risks and capacity limitations
n
Develop planning requirements for
distribution and sub-transmission network augmentation
n
Assess requirements for
zone substations and upstream terminal station infrastructure
n
Develop and evaluate technically and economically viable network augmentation options
n
Apply appropriate
risk assessment and management techniques
to network planning decisions
n
Prepare and contribute to
RIT-D and RIT-T assessments and reports
n
Develop recommendations to support network investment and long-term planning
n
Work closely with engineering,
operations, connections, asset management and other key stakeholders
n
Provide technical input and assurance across complex network planning and augmentation initiatives
n
About You n
We're interested in speaking with engineers who have experience within an
electricity utility, DNSP/TNSP, power systems consultancy or similar network environment
.
n
Your background may include:
n
n
Electricity
network planning or power systems planning
n
Distribution and/or sub-transmission networks
n
Zone substations and terminal stations
n
Load and demand forecasting
n
Network loading and utilisation analysis
n
Load-flow, contingency and power system studies
n
Network capacity and constraint assessment
n
Major customer or
large-load connections
n
Network augmentation and investment planning
n
Risk assessment and network planning methodologies
n
RIT-D and/or RIT-T
assessments
n
Network modelling tools such as
PSS/E, PowerFactory, SINCAL or similar
n
Australian electricity network standards and regulatory requirements
n
n
Experience specifically within
data centres is advantageous but not essential
. Experience planning for other large customer connections, significant new loads or major network augmentation will also be highly relevant.
