About the Opportunity

nWe are currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a well-established and highly regarded organisation on an initial 6-month temporary assignment, with the potential for extension.n
nThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional to join an established Finance team and take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting, reporting, compliance and month-end
responsibilities.n
nWorking closely with the Accounting Manager and key stakeholders across the business, you will play an key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting financial reporting and ensuring accurate and timely accounting outcomes.n
About the Role
n
nYour responsibilities will include:n
n
n
Managing general ledger activities and maintaining accurate financial records
n
Preparing journals and completing entries through to trial balance
n
Preparing Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and accruals analysis
n
Completing timely and accurate general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
n
Managing intercompany reconciliations and processing intercompany recharges
n
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
n
Assisting with the preparation of year-end financial statements
n
Supporting forecasting, budgeting and business planning activities
n
Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, including capitalisation, depreciation and disposals
n
Supporting tax compliance requirements including GST, FBT, PAYG, income tax and payroll tax
n
Preparing monthly cash movement reporting and supporting cash flow forecasting
n
Processing intercompany payments
n
Liaising with internal and external auditors
n
Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate GL,
cost centre and purchase order coding
n
Assisting with ad hoc accounting and financial projects as required
n

About You
n
nWe are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant who is technically strong, highly organised and comfortable working across a broad financial accounting function.n
nYou will ideally have:n
n
n
Proven experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Accountant role
n
Strong technical accounting knowledge and full general ledger experience
n
Solid month-end and year-end reporting experience
n
Strong reconciliation and balance sheet accounting skills
n
Experience with intercompany accounting
n
Experience with fixed assets and IFRS 16
n
Exposure to Australian tax compliance requirements
n
Strong cash flow and financial reporting experience
n
Experience supporting internal and external audit processes
n
Strong Excel and ERP system skills
n
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative Finance team
n
CA/CPA qualification or working towards qualification would be highly regarde
n
