Job Description
Your Employer n
Our client is a global leader in precision irrigation, with an established Australian presence spanning manufacturing, agronomy, technical support, design and sales.
n
Working with growers and dealers across Australia, they combine local agricultural knowledge with extensive international agronomy and irrigation expertise. With broadacre irrigation identified as a key growth market, they are investing in the people, trials and partnerships needed to expand adoption across Australian farming systems.
The Role n
Reporting to the Director of Agronomy, Product and Market Development, you will lead the development of subsurface drip irrigation opportunities within broadacre cropping.
n
You will turn existing market analysis into a practical market-development strategy, validate priority crops and regions, establish trials and partnerships, and build the commercial case for broader grower adoption.
n
Approximately 80% of the role will focus on market development, with the remaining 20% supporting wider regional agronomy requirements.
n Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
n
n
Develop and execute a three-year broadacre market-development plan.
n
Identify priority crops, regions and growers for subsurface drip irrigation.
n
Establish and manage field trials, demonstrations and commercial plots.
n
Build relationships with growers, dealers, researchers and industry partners.
n
Develop joint initiatives with research, government and commercial organisations.
n
Provide practical agronomic advice on irrigation, scheduling and fertigation.
n
Work with regional sales teams to progress opportunities into commercial adoption.
n
About You n
This position will suit an agricultural professional who combines sound agronomic knowledge with the commercial capability and persistence required to establish a recent market.
n
You will be comfortable working independently across a large territory, developing relationships from the ground up and moving between paddock-level agronomy, research partnerships and commercial discussions with growers and dealers.
n To be considered for the role, you must be able to address the following criteria:
n
n
Proven experience within agriculture, ideally across broadacre farming systems.
n
Strong practical understanding of crop agronomy and grower decision-making.
n
Experience identifying and developing recent markets or commercial opportunities.
n
Ability to develop a market plan and convert it into measurable outcomes.
n
Strong relationships and communication skills across agricultural stakeholders.
n
Ability to work autonomously and undertake regular travel across VIC and NSW.
n
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how technical adoption drives sales.
n
n
A tertiary qualification in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Horticulture or a related discipline is highly regarded, although strong practical industry experience may also be considered.
The Benefits: n
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a genuine market-development project rather than inherit an established sales territory. You will have considerable autonomy to plan grower visits, trials, dealer engagement and industry activities.
n
Importantly, you will have access to international agronomy expertise, research and established broadacre irrigation experience while helping determine how that knowledge is applied within Australian farming systems.
n In addition to the flexibility and scope of the position, other benefits include:
n
n
$135,000 base salary plus superannuation.
n
20% performance bonus based on base salary.
n
Company vehicle.
n
Remote, field-based position with significant autonomy.
n
Career development, global company with international expertise
n
Opportunity to influence the organisation's long-term Australian strategy.
