Position Profile:
As part of the South West Mental Health, Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (SW-ICAMHS), provides comprehensive mental health assessments, treatment planning, brief intervention and counselling, to infants, children and adolescent, who are referred or present with acute psychological distress, or significant mental health issues, including suicidal behaviour. This position supports the Acute Care & Response Team (ACRT), which operates as a seven day community-based service providing timely and responsive intervention across the South West region. This position participates in a roster operating Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays. In future shift times may vary in according to service demand and operational requirements.
This is a Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time or Fixed Term Part Time appointment, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Advanced Child and Adolescent Mental Health Practice -Demonstrated ability to independently assess, prioritise and respond to complex and high-risk mental health presentations in children and adolescents, applying sound clinical judgement, therapeutic intervention skills and evidence-based approaches to support recovery and safety outcomes.
Collaborative and Family-Centred Care - Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with young people, families, carers, multidisciplinary colleagues and external stakeholders to coordinate care, facilitate access to services and support positive treatment outcomes.
Clinical Governance, Legislative Compliance and Professional Accountability - Demonstrated ability to practise within professional, ethical and legislative frameworks, including the application of the Mental Health Act ****, maintaining accurate clinical records, managing risk and contributing to quality service delivery.




Adaptability and Responsiveness in a Community Mental Health Environment - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving community mental health setting, adapting to changing priorities, service demands and complex client needs while maintaining high standards of care.
Operational Commitment to Regional Service Delivery - Demonstrated capacity to support the operational requirements of a regional child and adolescent mental health service through participation in rotating 7-day rosters, travel across service locations and delivery of responsive, accessible care to diverse communities.
