As AI Lead, you'll lead a growing team of AI engineers and data scientists while owning the solutions that drive real business impact.
You'll shape recommendations, guide technical direction, and ensure AI solutions are production-ready, governed, and delivering measurable value.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who combines strong AI expertise with commercial thinking and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
Day to day you will...
Lead, coach, develop and grow a team of AI engineers and data scientists
Own the end-to-end solution recommendation process for business challenges entering the AI intake and assessment pipeline
Partner with AI Enablement, business analysts, architects and key stakeholders to define requirements and shape solutions
Guide the team in determining when AI, machine learning, automation or deterministic approaches are the best fit
Present solution recommendations and trade-offs to business leaders in clear, practical language
Ensure AI solutions are production-ready with appropriate governance, monitoring and observability
Manage AI risk considerations including privacy, security, model behaviour and vendor risk
Drive measurable business outcomes through clear ROI and value-focused deliveryFoster experimentation, innovation and continuous improvement while maintaining delivery priorities
Stay across emerging AI technologies and share insights with the wider AI & Data team
Provide technical leadership and guidance across AI engineering and data disciplines
Contribute to a secure, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive.
You'll be perfect if you have...
Experience leading technical teams in AI, machine learning,



data science or data engineering environments
Strong technical depth in AI and data engineering, with the ability to challenge design decisions and guide teams to the right outcomes
Experience delivering AI solutions into production cloud environments
Strong understanding of GenAI, machine learning, agentic AI approaches and their practical applications
Experience with AI governance, responsible AI, security, privacy and risk management
Proven ability to translate business challenges into high-value AI solutions
Robust commercial acumen with a focus on measurable ROI and business outcomes
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Foundry and Databricks highly regarded
Tertiary qualification in a related field
Relevant Azure, AI or Data Engineering certifications advantageous
